CAS Architecture
The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) is a postgraduate academic qualification. CAS programs offer specialized knowledge, enabling students to acquire additional qualification in a certain subject area and enhance their professional development. CAS courses are completed through part-time study while working and are considered as higher continuing education programs.
How long does it take
The IBISTM CAS programs include 3 courses that are taken within a 1-month period as part-time studies next to work.
Class attendance requires 3-6 hours per week.
Each course involves 1 hour of WEBCONF-classroom time and 10 hours of personal study time (5 ECTS credits for each course).
How many credits does it provide
The CAS program is worth 15 ECTS.
How much does it cost
A single course can be taken for CHF 1’000.
The CAS costs 3,000 CHF (3 courses). An additional fee of 200 CHF is payable for issuance of degree.
What you need to apply
Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of work experience, OR High School Diploma / Apprenticeship with 6+ years of work experience
Sufficient English knowledge to follow the course in English – to be confirmed by a satisfactory grade obtained in first course

When to apply
The CAS programs start every September, November, February and May.
The application process is ongoing throughout the year. Applicants must send their application at least 4 weeks before the start of a course and ensure payment of the course fee at least 2 weeks before the program start.
